Thought leaders working together to make a difference.
At LVSC, we know gaming. But to fully understand and truly have an impact on those individuals that may have a problem with gaming we work closely with educators, health professionals and recovery organizations -- community by community, everywhere we operate.
At the corporate level, we are global partners with the Division on Addictions of the Cambridge Health Alliance, an affiliate of the Harvard Medical School. Together, we built an evidence-based training program that is the foundation for all LVSC responsible gaming programs, and created EMERGE (Executive, Management, & Employee Responsible Gaming Education).
“Las Vegas Sands Corp. has shown tremendous leadership in addressing the issue of responsible gaming and it is demonstrated with the launch of Project EMERGE. (It) represents the most innovative and comprehensive responsible gaming program for the industry. The entire company, from middle management to the most senior executives, has shown a tremendous commitment in not only tackling the issue of responsible gaming, but also in dealing with other disorders.”

Also with Harvard, LVSC is researching the effectiveness of our Team Member training, testing the messaging that guests retain and evaluating how guests react to the Play Responsibly program overall. The study is being conducted at The Venetian and The Palazzo and will suggest if modifications to training and visibility are necessary so we stay on the leading edge of this issue. It will also give us a barometer of individual attitudes of guests toward responsible gaming messaging.
